It's Almost Here......

We're starting a Health Challenge on JANUARY 1ST!  If you're interested in joining us, or know of someone who is, here's the information you will need.  I need to know ASAP who is joining, so if you want "IN", let me know by Tuesday night.

Duration:
Wednesday, January 1st - Wednesday, February 26th


Participation Fee:
$25 (check or cash)
Due by Wednesday, January 1st (yes, this coming Wednesday.)
Fees can be dropped off at my house or mailed.

*I realize this is starting soon and very late notice.  If you want to join but are sending a check, let me know so I know that it's on it's way and you are DEFINITELY "IN". 

Rules & Info:


Daily points are given for:
20 pts: Exercising (minimum of 30 consecutive minutes) per day
20 pts: No FIGS (fried food, ice cream, goodies, soda)10 pts: Drinking 64 oz of water per day
10 pts: No eating after 8pm
10 pts: 3 servings of whole grains per day
10 pts: 5 servings of fruits/veggies per day


80 points possible each day.  There are 560 points possible each week.  (Except for the first and last weeks since we will be starting and ending mid-week.)

If you have not already received a tracking sheet, let me know and I can email it to you.

Freebies;
Each contestant is given 1 "freebie" to use in each category per week.  When a freebie is used, points are still given as if they had completed that requirement for the day.  Freebies cannot be carried over to other weeks.  You use them or lose them each week.  1 extra freebie is given for turning in the previous weeks points by Monday night.

Weight Loss:

It's important to keep your weight loss private.  This may be the only card you have to play in the end.  It's possible for participants to have earned the maximum points possible by the end of the challenge....so it may come down to weight loss.  At the end of the challenge everyone will report their percentage of weight lost. 


At the end of the challenge, the total weekly points will be added to the weight loss points.  You will receive 10 points per % lost.  (example: 12% weight loss = 120 points.)

***Use of pills, shots, etc to lose weight will not be allowed.



Weigh In:
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 1ST
*Make sure to weigh yourself WEDNESDAY morning to get your starting weight.  You will not have to disclose your weight. You will only report your percentage lost at the end of the challenge.
*At the final weigh in: You will need to weigh yourself on the same scale, at the same time of day and wearing the same thing (or lack thereof) that you wore on the first day.


Blog: 
A running point total will be posted each week, so the participants can see how they are doing compared to everyone else.  This calculation will not include weight loss points until the end of the challenge.  Weekly points need to be reported to me by email and I will post the group information.  1 extra freebie is given for turning in the previous weeks points by Monday night.

Prizes:

Prize money will be made up of all the entry fees.  Once we know how many participants we have I will post the amounts.  Usually there is a 1st,2nd and 3rd place.  If we don't have as many participants, there may only be a 1st and 2nd.
